Baseball and Softball Tournament Team Conduct
Manager Certification
1. Conduct by players, managers, and coaches must be above reproach, both on and off the field. Any
misbehavior or misconduct can cause the disqualification of a player, manager, or coach and could also
lead to the disqualification of their team.
2. Types of behavior that could lead to the disqualification include, but are not limited to:
- Use of profane or indecent language.
- Arguing and aggressive behavior towards teammates, coaches, members of other teams, umpires,
tournament officials, and volunteers, on or off the field of play.
- Throwing and (or) abuse of any equipment or property.
- Any illegal acts.
- Refusing to leave the field of play or the complex immediately when asked to do so by the umpire in
charge of the game or by a tournament official.
3. Air horns, boom boxes, and all artificial noisemakers are prohibited in the ball park.
4. Managers are required to read the rules and regulations for tournament play, as well as the Manager’s
Tournament Information Package (MTIP) for this tournament.
5. During the game, the manager is responsible for ensuring that their coaches and players stay under control,
even if another player or anyone else says something that they find to be offensive. Managers, coaches, and
players should not respond to provocation—that could lead to the disqualification of their team.
By registering my team for participation in a Southeast Region tournament, I certify that I have read and
understand this document and that the information herein has been, or will be, provided to and discussed with
the team’s coaches and players, and with the players’ parents.
