Southeast Regional Policy 20211011, Invitational Tournament Team Registration:
- Age groups considered by the Southeast Region as Invitational and covered by this team registration policy are: Rookie Baseball, 9-Year-olds Baseball, 11-Year-olds Baseball, and all Softball age groups.
- Southeast Regional Host and State Champion teams have the first priority to register.
- Other teams that participated in a State tournament and teams from States where no State tournament is held that wish to participate can register on a first-registered, first-placed basis; registrations are date-and-time stamped.
- The Southeast Regional Host team will be asked to preregister on a date and time determined by the Region.
- State Champion teams must register within 48 hours after the completion of their State tournament.
- State Champion and State second-place teams that do not register within this time allowance may register along with all other teams and be subject to the date-and-time-stamp registration requirement.
General Information and World Series Tournament Trail Team Registration:
The Southeast Region uses the official tournament brackets issued by Babe Ruth League, Inc. for pool play format when possible.
- Southeast Regional Policy 20191001 specifies that pool play format tournaments are constructed so that each team in a pool will play each other one time. Therefore, the following pool play tournament formats are used based on the number of team registrations for invitational tournaments: 4 or 5 teams - no pool divisions, 8 or 10 teams - two pool divisions, and 16 teams - four pool divisions.
- The World Series tournament trail age groups typically have an 8-team pool play format divided into two 4-team pool divisions where the Host team and State Champion teams compete.
- In all cases where there are "pool divisions," a single-elimination championship competition is scheduled. The champion team of a straight pool (no pool divisions) competition is based on the overall straight-pool record (using, if necessary, the official tiebreakers issued by Babe Ruth League, Inc. for pool play formats); there is no single-elimination competition.
- For the invitational baseball and softball tournaments, a team is eligible to register for Southeast Regional participation when it is either eliminated from State tournament competition or has become a State Champion. (RE: Policy 20211011, above)
